Famous for its charming and quaint railway station which is on UNESCO World Heritage Site Kalka–Shimla Railway. Less crowded and very attractive, the place is named after a British engineer Colonel Barog who was a part of the team responsible for the construction of the narrow gauge railway from Kalka to Shimla. During British era , the train stopped at Barog for almost an hour as the Royals used to have lavish lunch here. But access to railway station from highway is difficult and if you wish to visit Barog Railway station then better to visit by Kalka Shimla Toy train ride only.
